vinyls
a little foretaste of the opening of my exhibition on the 16th of april: some of the vinyls i'm going to play. i just love love love these cover designs! here some fragments:
raimonds pauls - the king of the latvian pop
the beatles, early years (this will be the opening music, yesssss!)
stephen tintin duffy: icing on the cake
ella fitzgerald (these neon-bright letters - brrrrrr)
estonian "estraadi ansambel" laine
(oh, truffaut would have gone crazy for these legs;)

the original
indre alias mima had to come all the way from berlin to take a photo of the original piece of the quotation which cheered me up at the time of my winter blues ( i posted about it below) ;)
i quite like the heart that somebody added to the chalk writing:
fotos: indre zetzsche
(nothing personal)
this deep dark house
my pastime is
with every spectre of my spouse
it grows on me
five storeys deep into the ground
with yet no basement to be found
the bulbs upon each window-sill
are planted there against my will

invitation
and here comes another postcard!
this one is not for sale. it is the invitation card for my vernissage on the 16th of april in a beautiful gallery located in a medieval manor house in bobingen near augsburg (sorry, it's south germany again).
whoever is reading this - consider yourself invited!
i think it's gonna be nice. and - i will play my old vinyls :)

a postcard?
(please click on the picture to see it bigger.) the text says:
it's a longe time since i wanted to write you. really. but...
i'd like to have a postcard like this - to send it to some people who are waiting for a letter from me for a longe time already (my mom, for example).
anybody else? - i'm curious to know. would you like to vote, please? (see the gadget on the right) thank you in advance!
PS: and PLEASE, do not hesitate to vote "no" if you mean "no"! it's better than not voting at all.

film packaging

i'm online again (if anybody missed me;)
i've been doing lots of things (meanwhile the pc had to be repaired) - renovating, thinking, arguing, sorting things out - mentally and physically...
look what i found - aren't these old film packagings beautiful?
i guess it's the first time i really payed attention to the DESIGN of the packaging of different film materials; perhaps it's the influence of blogs like fine little day, a collection a day and some others...

sunshine in the mailbox
today my mailbox (the real one, not the one for emails) was full of surprises.
there was a small package, it had come all the way from canada, and as i opened it, i found this:

a wonderful gift from a wonderful friend, from the blog nearness of distance.
isn't it magic?!
thank you, dear jane, thank you, I LOVE IT!!
but there were even more surprises - a postcard from another friend (also found through the virtual reality) - frau mima! it shows how she spends her holidays in the switzerland:
vielen vielen dank, liebe indre!!!
i feel so blessed today.....
it doesn't take much to make somebody happy, does it?

don't push
feeling blue is something i can't really afford now.i do not have time for doing nothing. there's so much work waiting for me to be done.
so i'm getting impatient and angry with myself.

the other day i saw a message on the street - white chalk on a blackboard. it said:
DON'T PUSH
THE RIVER
IT FLOWS
today i wrote it on my wall.
so good - hints and directions can be found on the street.

credits: the author of the 2nd row of photos is anda bankovska; the strange colours are the result of the colour negative film being processed as a diapositive. the last pair of photos is D300.

to have a daughter...

ok, and here comes the last (so far) part of my visual pleading for second-hand clothes :)
did you know that the production of 1 kg cotton takes 20.000 liter water? and there are 19 billion tons of cotton being grown a year, and 50% of all pesticides in the world are used for growing cotton!
(auf deutsch schon mal eine notiz gepostet)

all clothing and shoes in this post and the posts below (labeled as clothes a. shoes) are bought second-hand, or inherited from the cousines and friends.
