it's a snapshot of a still-life in a bookshelf taken a couple of years ago at the home of a friend of mine in riga. as one can see, i primary focused on the sweet letter written by a little girl to her mom.
now i notice the toy next to the letter - the cats in the basket.
a flashback: i KNOW how it feels to push them down, then they pop up giving a squeaky sound! ...
i dug in the archive of film negatives of my brother and found this filmstrip showing a little girl with the cats. it's dated: spring 1973.
the girl is about a year and a half, and her name is ieva :)

ieva jansone, a visual artist "with migration background", currently based in berlin. world's citizen and homesick forever.

unglaublich ieva!!!

AntwortenLöschen@fine little day:
AntwortenLöschenok, i'll try to translate (it's hard for me to find the adequate way of putting it).
the little note says:
"for mom. dear mommy, i love you. you cannot imagine how much i love you. tomorrow i will paint your nails in which colour whatever - your choice. dukuris"
"dukuris" is a name of a bird living near lakes, no idea what is the english word for it.
it is the nickname of anna, the author of this charming letter ;)
Aha, how very sweet and lovely :))
AntwortenLöschenThe house photos was not mine. But I wish I was there to see the house in real life. What a dream to photograph... I did get your mail Ieve, I´ll mail you back.
